The Mission

The Black Sea. It is raw and rough.
Unpredictable and opinionated. Always challenging.
We call it “our sea”. And we would not trade it for any other place.
We created Black Sea Catch driven by the purpose to preserve its richness, and to share its character with the world.

Thanks to the low saltiness of its waters, the Black sea fishes are rich in texture and delicate in taste. The result is a truly unique flavour that we want the world to experience.

All our products are crafted at the Black Sea coast, using hand-selected, prime quality wild-caught black sea fish and working in tandem with the local fishing community.

We see the Black Sea fisherman and their communities as the key driver of protecting our sea – and not, as some might think, the enemy of preserving its precious resources.

We support and collaborate with our fishermen to help them respect the quotas and the fishing limitations. Together with them, we are working towards sustainable fishing methods and the execution of various projects aiming to preserve the Black Sea eco systems.

1% of all our income goes back to fund projects that support and contribute to the preservation of our sea. This is our long-term commitment. Because regardless of sales and profit, the wellbeing of the sea we depend on is the priority.

All our sustainability projects are measured for against their direct effects.

Towards 0% Wastage

We aim to put every part of every fish we catch for our products to good use. This is an ambitious goal, and we’re not there yet. But it’s worth it: all the resources of our sea are valuable and can be put to use.

Get in touch if you have an idea for a by-product that can utilize the parts of our bonito and bluefish that we don’t use.
